1991

The pace of the two previous years slowed. I was occupied editing a photo magazine for a cheap, second-rate publisher, writing an occasional Camera column for the Sunday NY Times, all while my father was upstate dying. It was hard to concentrate and the pictures from the year are mainly disappointing. I did begin using a second-hand Pentax 67 in place of the Rolleiflex, which, as mentioned, I never much liked using, though it did render some interesting archaic effects when a set for the movie Billy Bathgate was built on my block of S 3rd St. Williamsberg and I got to play WPA photographer for a week.
