Jamaica 1990

After Modern Photography closed, my editor, Barry, got a job right away editing a travel newsletter, and so sent me to Jamaica in early ’90.

I loved it from the jump, a deeply beautify country and people, a powerful and dignified culture, plagued, of course, by deep poverty and hallucinatory violence. There’s lot I wish I had pictures of now, but seeing, I submit, comes before taking pictures. My magazine group was expressed from Kingston, north by van to Mo Bay and a couple v. exclusive, and very beautiful, resorts, designed, of course, along plantation house lines.
